So Man United on their way out then? If they lose this match they'll be playing in the Europa League with mighty Fulham and Victoria Plzen.

C'mon little Basle!

It's Basel. I think United will win, although them losing would be entertaining.

They got a 3-3 draw at Old Trafford and should have won so it would be foolish of Manchester United to think that this is a given.

Manchester United make three changes following Saturday's victory at Aston Villa as David de Gea is preferred to Anders Lindegaard in goal, Ryan Giggs deputises for the suspended Michael Carrick and Park Ji-Sung replaces the injured Javier Hernandez.

There is only one change to the Basel team which drew 3-3 at Old Trafford, Xherdan Shaqiri stepping in for Jacques Zoua on the right of midfield.

"Having accused his side of "complacency" in the reverse fixture, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says 'we need focus' and concedes 'the atmosphere [at St Jakob Park] is very powerful and helps Basel'.

Basel counterpart Heiki Vogel hopes 'we can pull of the big coup' against 'one of the strongest teams in the world", but admits "a lot has has got to come from above' if they are to triumph. High-ball tactic?"

"United have started very, very well. They want to get forward, attack, get an early goal and settle down. It's a very attacking line-up with Park Ji-Sung and Ryan Giggs in midfield - they're not defensive players. Ashley Young on the left has already had a few runs at his full-back and that's why he's so good for United. He carries the ball, runs at teams and gets them on the back foot."

God, I would love it. I don't know when a Swiss team last made the knockout phase, but it'd be amazing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Cat. Amongst. Pigeons. After Chris Smalling and Nemanja Vidic clash into each other in the area, Bassel winger Xherdan Shaqiri is able to cross into the Man Utd box unchallenged, and it finds its way to Marco Streller via the foot of David de Gea, the striker lashing into the unguarded net.

In case you need reminding, that means - as it stands - Man Utd are out of the Champions League.

Benfica 1-0 Oţelul Galaţi, Oscar Cardozo. Oh my. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) STILL, even a goal down Man Utd are very capable of coming back, not going to get too excited yet.

Yup, more brutal defending from Man Utd this season. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) They need to find a way to sort it out, although I hope they wait another couple hours before they start. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_mrgreen.gif)

If they get a second then United could be in trouble but with only 1 at the moment you can never write them off
